Call me before you’re dead; we’ll make some plans instead
It’s a still life water color,
Of a now late afternoon,
As the sun shines through the curtained lace
And shadows wash the room.
And we sit and drink our coffee
Couched in our indifference,
Like shells upon the shore
You can hear the ocean roar
In the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs,
Are the borders of our lives.
And you read your emily dickinson,
And I my robert frost,
And we note our place with bookmarkers
That measure what we’ve lost.
Like a poem poorly written
We are verses out of rhythm,
Couplets out of rhyme,
In syncopated time
Lost in the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs,
Are the borders of our lives.
Yes, we speak of things that matter,
With words that must be said,
Can analysis be worthwhile?
Is the theater really dead?
And how the room is softly faded
And I only kiss your shadow,
I cannot feel your hand,
You’re a stranger now unto me
Lost in the dangling conversation.
And the superficial sighs,
In the borders of our lives.
So I'm done having killer mysterious headaches and surprising personal calamities and getting doubly suprising promotions. I Twitter now (peep that HA HA HA see what I did there) and I'm back to blogging, so it's now officially more than you can stand.

Terrible experience…but great song to describe it. Sorry, man!

Thank you!
And yeah, nobody does melancholy like Simon & Garfunkel.

you can do better, and you will do better — you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself, being positive and confident will do wonders (I know from experience).

My condolences as well. It’s rough, I know. But from what little I’ve come to know about you, I think you’re a significantly cool person and you’ll be just fine.

Dude, that sucks. Since this entry has been up a while, I hope you’re feeling better and haven’t been on any chocolate covered almond/cheap wine binges lately.

Boy!
After what happened to me, and reading your previous to last post, perhaps I should be the one on cheap wine and chocolate covered everything binge.
I sure need it!
