Marathonin’
Right about now I’ll be leaving the starting line of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, to run my first full 26-mile race. I’m running with the 3 hour and 40 minute group, so anyone who feels like cheering for me can tune in at around 11:15 to 11:30 to watch me cross the finish line.
There should be a live finish line camera here.
I’ll be the guy looking tired, with bib #961.
If you see me on the “Lying Prone At The Side Of The Road” camera, for God’s sake call someone.

Thank you! I ended up doing 4:08, which is about a half hour slower than I wanted. I was 1:50 at the halfway point, but then I hit a bunch of unexpected hills and fell completely off the wagon.
But I RAN A MARATHON!

Ohmigod, dude, duh! I saw “marathon” and assumed it was you from Choosy Beggars, read the post, the voice was the same, then was all confused when I noticed this was a Misc posting… then realized your name is Mike, and how many Mikes could there be? Went to the “About” on CB and – long story shut up already – you are you! Jeebus. Well done on the marathon. The only thing I do for four hours straight is sleep.

Ahahaha, Jenertia is hilarious. “The only thing I do for four hours straight is sleep” is awesome (and I totally agree).
But yay for you! What an accomplishment.

Oh man – hills at the END of a marathon? Now that’s just taking an evil clue from Boston. Great job though! 4:08 is a very respectable time. Congratulations!

Good luck! Impressive pace you’re shooting for – much faster than my HALF marathon pace.
Leaving for a 5K in a few minutes myself.
